predeceased her after 43 years of marriage, in 1988.

She is survived by her four children, Carol Vanderford of Gainesville, FL; Jean
Young and husband, Ron Young, of Apex, NC; Vicky Pratt and husband, Michael
Pratt, of Brevard, NC; and Vandy Vanderford and wife, Heidrun Vanderford, of

by five great grandchildren.

Louise and her family moved to Raleigh in 1954, where she was active in
Hillyer Memorial Christian Church for more than fifty years. She was a Deaconess
there and helped found the Sarah Bible Study Group, which continues today. She
and her husband initiated the tradition of "Thanksgiving Breakfast "at Hillyer, and
the family has continued that celebration at First United Methodist Church in
Brevard for more than twenty years.

Louise was a stay at home mom until her oldest child graduated from high
school. She then started working at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, and became Head
Cashier there, retiring after sixteen years. She was a voracious reader, a Bible
scholar, a fierce Scrabble competitor, and a dependable friend and confidant.

In 1999, Louise moved to Brevard, where she became an associate member
of First United Methodist Church. She resided at College Walk Retirement
Community for 13 years, and at Tore's home for the last year.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at First
United Methodist Church, Brevard, NC. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. on
Thursday, April 4, at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C. In lieu of flowers the
family asks for memorials to be made to the Weekday Children's Program at First
United Methodist Church, 325 North Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712.

The family wishes to thank Louise's special caregivers from both Tore's
Home and Transylvania Regional Hospital Hospice. Moody Connolly Funeral Home,
Brevard, NC, is assisting the family.
