Clarence “Clint” William Van Orman

Brevard – Clarence “Clint” William Van Orman, 93, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

Clint was the son of the late Byron and Myrtie Ballard Van Orman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death 26 days by his beloved wife of 68 years; Mary Virginia “Ginny” Van Orman and his brother; Ernest Van Orman.

Many of his friends called him Van. Clint served for three years in the US Marine Corps in the Pacific during WWII where he was in the pioneering group of radar operators. Following graduations from Syracuse University State College of Forestry in Chemical Engineering, Clint began a 34 year career with the SD Warren Company becoming Vice President and Mill Manager at the Westbrook, ME and Muskegon, MI plants. Following his career he enjoyed 32 years of wonderful retirement with travel and golf. He enjoyed attending and watching all kinds of sports and was a life-long NY Yankee fan.

Clint and Ginny lived for many years in Westbrook, ME; Muskego, MI; Gulf Shores, AL and the last nine years in Brevard.

Survivors include one son; Scott Van Orman and wife Karen, two daughters; Errin Jones and husband Charles, Joan Van Orman and husband Bruce Siulinski, three grandchildren; Melissa Van Orman and husband Mark Bussow, Jennifer Van Orman Yurges and husband Joshua and Laura Van Orman, two great grandchildren; Letta Virginia and Nella Rosalie Yurges, niece; Diane Frey, nephew; E Bruce “Pat” Van Orman and two sisters-in-law; Helen Darling and Monica Lindner.
