Obituary for Laura Willa Jean Norris (Owen)
Horseshoe – Willa Jean Norris, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 27, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Ira Tilman and Ivalee Galloway Owen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and two grandsons, Michael Luke Jones and Daniel Kayce Norris.
Willa Jean allowed her children to be independent and be themselves and through prayer and biblical direction she taught them who God is and how to serve Him.
Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Charles Howard Norris; sons, Jim Norris and wife Lydia of Williamston, SC, Keith Norris and wife Regina of Brevard, Klay Norris and wife Shana of Pisgah Forest and Pastor Chris Norris and wife Kristy of Asheville, daughters; Marcia Brown and husband David of Pisgah Forest, Wanda Henderson and husband Tim of Horseshoe, Sarah Ann Griffin of Horseshoe, Barbara Owen of Lake Toxaway and Debbie Johnson and husband Buddy of Sapphire; brothers, Gertha, Ronnie, and Hoyt Owen; sisters, Geraldine Fisher and Christine Shelton; 33 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris Norris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Baptist Church building fund, 27 Eisenhower Drive, Hendersonville, NC 28792
