Obituary for Barbara Jean Fisher (McCall)
Lake Toxaway – Barbara McCall Fisher, 79, passed away Friday, June 10, 2016.
She was the daughter of the late Carter Riley and Elsie Owens McCall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Perry H. “Penny” Fisher and a brother, Stephen McCall.
Mrs. Fisher was a loving and care giving lady. She was very active in the Quebec Community by helping to secure funds to pave gravel roads and build the Quebec Community Center. She was one of the first outreach workers for Western Carolina Community Action and devoted her time volunteering by delivering meals to the homebound in the community.
Survivors include her son; Rodney Fisher of Lake Toxaway, daughter; Sonya Flynn and husband Owen James of Brevard, brothers; Carlyle McCall and wife Evelyn of Coalfield, TN and Samuel McCall and wife Lucy of Coalfield, TN, grandchildren; Adam, Alex, Aaron, Trey and Skyler.
Memorial services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In addition to flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WCCA Home Delivered Meal Program, 181 Hillview Ext., Brevard, NC 28712.
