Obituary for James Edgar Justice

Stanley, NC– James Edgar Justice, 86, formerly of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 27, 2016.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Brackenridge and Leona Webb Justice. He was also preceded in death by brothers, William, C. J., Charley, Edward, Ray, and Dean Justice, and sister, Sara Plemmons.
Mr. Justice was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brevard where he had served as a Deacon, eighth grade Sunday school teacher, and sang in the choir. He had been a Gideon for many years.
Mr. Justice had been a custom home builder in Transylvania County for many years. He loved woodworking and he was instrumental in helping rebuild the Spring Creek Community Center in Madison County. He loved being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wanda Plemmons Justice; sons, Garry Justice (Dr. Stan Schneider) of Charlotte, NC, and Frank Justice (Rita) of Lowell, NC; daughter, Teena Phillimeano (Butch) of Willow Springs, NC; sister, Dortha Smith of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, James, Joshua, and Jacob Justice, Julianna and Johanna Caroline Phillimeano.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Brevard. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Honor Guard for Transylvania County Veterans.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brevard Building Fund.
