Condolence: To John's family, I want you to know these things. On MANY rescues, John was right there with us Rescue Squad members as we sought to rescue those who were in great peril in a very wide variety of circumstances. John worked with us as a team, be it on the side of a rock, in a river, on a trail miles into the forest sometimes, or in a mangled car. He was always trying to do his best to save life. As a con ed instructor for our EMT recertification training, John was absolutely great, keeping our attention in class and often giving us a good laugh...all the while teaching us our skills. I truly believe this county and state is a better place because of his efforts. Personally, I am a better man because of John. I shall miss talking and working with John. John made a difference in many lives through the gifts and talents God gave him, which should serve as a lesson to ALL of us. Life is short, but a mist in the morning, but we CAN make a difference in this world...one day at a time, trusting God to show us the way. Thank you, my friend, Well done, faithful and loyal servant. Rest in peace.

Condolence: My Brother in Christ, John Whitmire. To the family, my heart grieves with you in your loss. My mind races back 20 yrs ago when you preached the gospel. John is one of two men who I believe with all my heart God called to preach, not man but God, and the devil sought to "sift him as wheat." A fatality- a man caught up in warfare. Brother, I remember you preaching many times but only one specifically, "The Devil Has A Target on Your Back." Prophetic words, no doubt. I love you John Whitmire! As I was thinking, grieving, mourning and praying Tuesday morning, the Holy Spirit gave me a sermon. BTW, my brother, He is still using you to carry His msg to others. In I Corinthians 1:3, Paul says "Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." Two words catch our attention- "grace and peace" Brother, I caught myself praying for grace- I need Gods grace so that I don't do something similar. It's only the grace of God that many don't. O how we nee Gods unmerited favor in our lives to keep sanity. As we pray for grace for ourselves, we pray for peace for everyone else. The peace of God so that when the storms rage in our lives we can turn to Jesus- a peace that passeth all understanding. We need the peace of God daily to live our lives during perilous times. Brother, you've caused me to search my heart and the scripture for a Word one more time. Hebrews 12:14 "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." As Paul states, grace and peace can only come from God our Father and Jesus Christ. I love you Preacher. Without question, I'll see you on the other side.
