Condolences

Condolence From: Joe Makarewicz
Condolence: Dear Jan and family,
I apologize for not sending this earlier. I found it difficult to gather my thoughts after Dick’s passing. I will always remember Dick’s mentoring and encouragement when I was a new faculty member at SUNY Brockport. He brought perspective, experience, and friendship that helped me many times in my early years as a teacher. He also sensed that I needed another outlet from the College and involved me with the faculty volleyball games and got me involved with his golf team - Something that I am still involved with to this day. Through his efforts I was introduced to new people with interests similar to mine. After his retirement, he would often drop by my office in the summer. I could hear his booming voice coming down the corridor and I always smiled. He was a scholar and a gentleman.
Please accept my deepest condolences.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Liebe's passing. I remember his booming laugh and joyful energy while growing up in Brockport, whether at the college, in our neighborhood, or at gatherings with family and friends. Many years later, while working at Saguaro National Park, I heard from staff of this "great, energetic volunteer leading geology walks in the Tucson Mountains" - who else could it be but Mr. Liebe, now happily retired.

Condolence: We feel so saddened by Dick's passing. He was a wonderful man ready to share a smile and knowledge with all. Part of his legacy is a Geology sign on Rt 54A near Branchport, NY. Dick was a research and text contributor for this Jerusalem History Club and Bluff Point Association project. Thank you, Dick

Condolence: Dear Liebe Family,

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Dick at SUNY Brockport. Always a gentleman with a welcoming smile, it was always an interesting exchange whenever meeting him across the campus. He had a presence that grew as he spoke with you. My sincere condolences.

Condolence: Dear Liebe Family,
Our family would like to express our sympathy to each of you in this time of painful grief and great loss of a wonderful husband, dad, and granddad. We wish that we could be in Brevard with you as you lean on one another in this time of sorrow and as you recount all your most cherished memories about Dick's exceptional life. We will certainly be thinking of each of you on Saturday as you celebrate Dick's influence on your lives.
May it help you to know how much we care for you all as you look toward the days to come. You will be in our prayers and thoughts.

Condolence: I'd like to express my deepest condolences and best wishes to the Liebe family. Mr. Liebe (as I'll always know him) treated me like one of his children, was patient, and an excellent roll model. I'll never forget sitting in his living room while he watched sports on two TV's and listened to another on the radio next to him.

Condolence: I'm very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. I'll remember him as the model of a college professor... probably the most well-regarded and popular faculty member our department ever had.
