Warren "Dick" Eugene  Fisher
Lake Toxaway - Warren Eugene (Dick) Fisher, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2016.
Born to the late Warren Isaiah Fisher and Edith Montieth Fisher in Lake Toxaway,
Dick was a native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County.
He was employed by the Glouster Lumber Company until his voluntary enlistment in the US Navy during World War II. After his active service, he served in the US Naval Reserves for eight years. He worked and retired at the Ecusta Paper Mill in Pisgah Forest.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Melda Inez Murr Fisher, daughter Christy Leigh Fisher, sisters, Lucille Owen, Willie Bryson and Dorothy Rogers, brothers, Ray Fisher, Ben Fisher and Jim Fisher.
Survivors include his children, Lee and Sherry Fisher, and Donny and Barbara Fisher;
grandchildren, Luke and Jessica Fisher, Shana and Derrick Huggins, Tassie Fisher;
great grandchildren, Annie Fisher, Owen Fisher, Jaece Huggins, Avi Huggins, Emma Fisher, Harper Fisher, Paislee Fisher; sister, Ruby Pruitt; extended family, adopted family and friends (too many to name).
Dick was an avid hunter (especially for bear), outdoorsman and farmer. He loved spending time in the woods and garden. God certainly knew what He was doing when He planted Dick in these mountains of WNC. He walked all through them for the last 88 years and enjoyed every step of the way.
His favorite thing to do was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had a huge heart for kids. He loved them and they loved him.
He was a member of the North Toxaway Baptist Church. He also enjoyed attending Midway Bible Baptist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated this life that God granted him. "It's Been A Good Ride - Absolutely!"
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fisher Reunion Cemetery Maintenance Fund c/o, Jennifer Reid, 2502 Kim Miller Road, Lake Toxaway, NC 2747.
