Obituary for David Hill "D. H." Chapman

Rosman – David Hill “D.H.” Chapman, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.
He was born Transylvania County on February 1, 1933 to the late John and Essie Morgan Chapman. He was also proceeded in death by five brothers, Elford, Marvin, Roy, J.D. and Hershel Chapman, and two sisters, Eva Whitmire and Edith Anders.
D.H. was a lover of music. As long as he was able, he enjoyed music, especially Bluegrass. Another love of his was food. He loved to go out and eat. His wife, Geraldine “Arch” was determined to give D.H. everything he wanted to make him happy, so he ate out a lot. Everyone commented about seeing a little RAV-4 on the road with D.H., Arch, and Jo going out to eat, sometimes with Mildred Morgan going along for the ride.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Geraldine “Arch” Galloway Chapman; two sisters, Addis Chapman Jones and Gladys Chapman Galloway and husband Edward; brother, Allen Chapman and wife Sandy; thirty-three nieces and nephews; Numerous special friends. D.H.’s in-laws were very special to him and there are six members still living, Mildred Morgan, Josephine Morgan, Dr. Shelly Galloway, D. H. Galloway and wife Gail, and sister-in-law, Mildred Galloway.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, February 4, 2017 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from Noon until 2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
