Obituary for William Ryan Gregory

Murrells Inlet, SC - William Ryan Gregory, formerly of Brevard, NC, age 52, died on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at MUSC after losing his battle with lung cancer. Heaven gained a special angel.

Born in Mooresville, NC, Ryan was a son of Robert and Gerry Gregory. He graduated from Mooresville High School (Class of 1982) and attended Barber College in Charlotte, NC. Ryan worked as a barber at Eastwood Barber Shop in Charlotte for over 10 years. He then worked for Spectro Color & Chemical in Charlotte for 3 years as a dye mixer. After moving to the Grand Strand, Ryan went to work for Garden City Furniture for 20 years as a service technician. He always had a joke for every situation and made everyone laugh with his quick witt and his funny smile.

Surviving in addition to his parents of Murrells Inlet are his wife of 30 years and best friend, Patricia Powell Gregory; brother, Robert L. Gregory Jr. and his wife, Ophelia; sister, Sharon Gregory-Smith; nephew, Marc Hammond Gregory and his wife, Laurel; mother-in-law, Doris Raines and her husband, Austin; special sister-in-law, Kimberly and her husband, 1SG Wesley A. Thomas, US Army; aunt, Marquerite Mayer; and many special cousins, close family friends, his biker family and fishing buddies.

Graveside Service will be held 1pm, Friday, February 10, 2017 at Middle Fork Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chester Chapel officiating,
