Doyle William Stamey (1928-2017)

Doyle William Stamey was surrounded by his family when passed into eternity on the morning of July 1st at Transylvania Regional Hospital. He was born June 1st, 1928 in the Spring Creek area of Madison County, NC to the late Newton J and Bessie E Stamey. He was married to Sarah Helen Stamey of Highlands, NC. They were married for 66 years and she was his primary caregiver.

Doyle had two children. Patricia Ann Stiles of Brevard, NC and Mitchell William Stamey of Inman, SC . He had three grandchildren, Shaun Patrick Stiles of Roanoke, Virginia, Austin William Stamey of Inman, SC and Sarah Ashley Stamey of Inman, SC. He had one great granddaughter, Davis Grace Stiles of Roanoke, Virginia. Son-In-law Ronnie Stiles of Brevard, NC. Daughter in-law Vicky S Stamey of Inman, SC and Grand Daughter-in-law, Stacy Stiles of Roanoke, Virginia.

In his early years, he was employed by General Motors in Detroit, Michigan and Newport News Ship Builders in Newport News, Virginia. Doyle worked for 40 years at Ecusta Corporation in Pisgah Forest, NC and retired from there in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with the his grandchildren and spending time at Lake Hartwell.

In lieu of flowers we encourage donations to Care Partners Hospice, carepartners.org, and the Alzheimers Association of America, www.alz.org.

A graveside service will be held 11 am, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory
conducted by Rev. Allen Thompson.
