Obituary for Katherine Simpson Bagwell (Simpson)

Katherine Simpson Bagwell (Simpson)
Katherine Simpson Bagwell, age 92, passed peacefully on the morning of July 3, 2017 to be in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was the daughter of the late Arvil and Effie Simpson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Lewis P Bagwell, as well as her brothers, Ray Simpson, Paul Simpson and a sister Cecile Rigdon.
Katie was a very loving and caring person, not only to her many family members whom she dearly loved, but to friends and neighbors as well. She always had a smile on her face and wanted to share a hug. She always took time to make sure everyone knew they were loved and very special to her. Her legacy will remain with all of us as a legacy for the love of God and family. A language of love providing her Lemon Cake, Brownies and meals for those in need. On her daily walks at Ingles she valued each person there that had a part in her day. They were considered second family.
She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Joan Jessen and husband John of Brevard, granddaughters Kim Bethea and husband Eddie Bethea of Charlotte and Nancy Foust and husband Joel of Sevierville, TN. Great-granddaughters include Katlin Barrett, Nikki Shuford and Rachel Bethea. Katie is survived by a special nephew Lamar Grimmitt who was like a son. Several nieces, nephews and cousins who each held a special place in her heart.
