Obituary for Alma Kilpatrick Frady (Kilpatrick)

Alma Kilpatrick Frady, age 91, passed away July 15, 2017. A native of Transylvania County, Alma was born in the East Fork section of the county on September 26, 1925. She was the daughter of Onie and Annie Mae Kilpatrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin L. Frady, Sr., and six siblings (Onie Kilpatrick, Jr., Edna Brown, Libby Praytor, Louise Hall, Joe Kilpatrick and Effie Stamey). Surviving siblings include Pat Fraederich (husband Wayne), and Michael Steven (Butch) Kilpatrick.
Additional survivors include daughter, Linda McCall, and sons, Calvin L. Frady, Jr. (wife Eunice) and Glenn C. Frady. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was also “Big Mamaw” to her beloved Joseph Switzer and family.
Alma enjoyed her long life in the mountains of WNC that she loved so well. She filled her life with family, friends, Bible study and quilting. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends but they are consoled in the knowledge she is with Jesus who she was always quick to praise even through her end-of-life battle.
The family would like especially to acknowledge the loving care Alma was given by her daughter Linda and Care Partners Hospice during her final weeks of life.
A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2 PM. The immediate family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
