Obituary for Juanita Buckner Holcombe (Buckner)

Juanita Buckner Holcombe (Buckner)
Juanita Buckner Holcombe, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning, July 19, 2017. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and had worked at Ecusta in the Endless Belt Department.
Juanita was born in Madison County on October 1, 1926 to the late Charles and Ethel Buckner. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ray O. Holcombe, and a brother, Bill Buckner. She is survived by her daughter Linda (Ray) Petit of Brevard and son, Roger (Rhonda) of Brevard. Also grandchildren, Denise (Martin) Gonsales of Savannah, GA, Camy (Jeff) Horrell of Cedar Mountain, Karin (Tod) Ellis of Edgemoor, SC, David (Laura) Petit of Rosman, Tonya (Daniel) Epps of Townville, SC, Penny (Dean) West of Rosman, Brian (Tracey) Holcombe of Colorado, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two nephews, Lane and Keith Buckner.
While she is no longer with us, we know she is in the presence of her God and Savior and is walking hand in hand with the love of her life, Ray-Bo.
She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her God and to her family. She was a wonderful cook and found great joy in preparing food for her family. She loved to bass fish and spent many hours on the lake trying to out-do her son-in-law, Ray Petit.
A special thank you to the staff at The Bridge at Lake Pointe Landing, Four Seasons Hospice and the caregivers from Golden Hill Care Services: who all lovingly cared for her.
Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Greenville Shriners’ Hospital at 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
Graveside services will be held 10am, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with the Rev. David Spray officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church.
