Obituary for Freddie Harold Hollar

Freddie Harold Hollar, age 81, died on Friday, August 4, 2017, in Brevard, NC.

Fred is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nell Moses Hollar, of Brevard; daughters Joy Clawson (Wayne) of Boone; Cindy Kiser of Brevard; and Lisa Hawkins (David) of Leicester; and brother, Jerry Hollar (Flo) of Lake Toxaway. He is also survived by grandchildren Tammy Kiser Buckner (Jason) of Etowah; Andy Kiser of Rosman; Amber Clawson Albert (Gary) of Claremont; and Whitley Clawson (Lauren) of Boone; and great-grandchildren, Breyer Owen, Luke Kiser, Brynlynn Kiser, Emily Kiser, Jacob Buckner, Koen Kiser, Landon Clawson, Berrin Clawson, and Tice Albert. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilma Tolley Hollar and Arthur J. Hollar, and a brother Ernest Hollar.

Fred Hollar was born in 1935 in Caldwell County, NC, but lived in Transylvania County for 80 years. He graduated from Rosman High School in 1953 and in 1983 he completed the Basic Law Enforcement program at Southwestern Technical College. His favorite past times included working on cars and fishing. In 1993, after 40 years, Fred retired from Ecusta. In his last years there, he served as a company policeman. After his retirement, he worked for the Brevard Police Department.

A graveside service is scheduled for 12:00 noon on Monday, August 7, at the Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family would like to thank the members of the Transylvania Hospice for all their loving care of Fred and his family.
