Bill Russell Lowery, formerly from Brevard, NC currently residing in Boiling Springs, SC peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 5, 2017.

He was a devoted husband, a great father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by parents Julian and Inez Lowery, brother Cecil Lowery and sister Patricia Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ann Sheppard Lowery, daughter Sherry Gillespie (Bobby), sons Randy Lowery (Olivia) and Rusty Lowery. Grandchildren Nathan Gillespie (Joe), Elizabeth Gillespie, Elyse Greene (Bernard), Nick Lowery (Stephanie), Lucas Lowery and Bailey Lowery. Great grandchildren Mia Cobb, Jay Moss, Nicholas Lowery, Kingston Cobb, Cloe Lowery, Kaymin Greene, Owen Lowery and Roman Gillespie. In addition he is survived by brother Irbyan Lowery (June), nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

He retired from the Brevard City Police Department after 35 years of active service, during which time he completed a Criminal Justice degree from the University of Georgia. In retirement he devoted his life to his family and church.

Memorial services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.


In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to the B2 Memorial Fund at the Ecusta Credit Union, in person at 2074 Asheville Hwy or by phone at 800-642-7284. In his honor donations will be used to support the Brevard City Police Department K9 unit and/or providing additional lifesaving officer protective equipment.
