Obituary for Frances Marie Pratt
Frances Quinn Pratt of Brevard, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2017. Born April 22, 1923 in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of John Earl Quinn Sr and Eva Bondurant Quinn and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia.
A graduate of Roanoke College, she was a chemist, a devoted homemaker, and a Meals-on-Wheels coordinator. She lived in Bloomsburg, PA, Hampton, SC, Granville, OH, and Seneca, SC.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, B. D. Pratt;
Survivors include her children and spouses, Laura and Ted Askew, John and Teresa Pratt, and Ellen and Doug Harris; grandchildren Andrew Pratt (wife Annie Schutte), Caroline and Alexander Pratt, and Aaron and Becca Harris; and two great grandchildren Penn Rose and Billy Sky Schutte-Pratt.
An avid reader, family requests donations in his honor to the Friends of the North Carolina Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (www.friendsnclbph.org) or the non-profit of your choice. The family is being cared for by the Brevard First United Methodist Church with a memorial service scheduled for Monday, August 13, 2017 at 3 pm.
