Obituary for Dennis Ray Hamilton
Dennis Ray Hamilton, 81, of Pisgah Forest, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017.
Dennis was born November 10, 1935 in Jackson County, NC to the late Helen Zachary and Vincent Hamilton. He is also preceded in death by his sister Ruth Ann Hamilton.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1954 to 1956. Dennis retired from DuPont after 33 years of service. He served as County Commissioner in Transylvania County and coached little league baseball for 15 years. He was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Hamilton; sons, Roger Hamilton (JoAnn) of Brevard and John Hamilton (Andye) of Fletcher; granddaughters, Holly Hamilton of Fletcher, Heather Hamilton of Greer and Stephanie Hamilton of Arden; and great-granddaughter, Makenna Hamilton of Greer.
A memorial service will be held at Temple Baptist Church at 1PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
