Sandra Sue Bennett Stephens, 69, born in Franklin, NC on August 22, 1948, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday Morning, January 19, 2018.
She was a beloved mother, devoted wife, loving sister, doting nana and devout Christian. She started dating the love of her life, Ronnie Stephens, in the 8th grade and they were married on December 21, 1969. They just celebrated 48 years of marriage. She was a faithful member of Carson’s Creek Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she was organist, pianist, Sunday School teacher, and church clerk, to name a few of her services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Edgar Bennett, and Mary Magdalene Vance Bennett, both of Sylva, NC and one granddaughter, Emalee Clare Travis.
She is survived by her Husband, Ronnie Clarence Stephens, of Brevard, her two Daughters: Summer Travis and husband Carl, Shasta Moretz and husband Randy, four grandchildren that were the light of her life: Randy³ and Emma Moretz, and Maggie and Brisco Travis, all of Brevard, her brothers: Mark Bennett, of Brevard, NC, and Bart Bennett and wife Janice, of Lexington, SC, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She worked at the Curl and Comb in Brevard as a hairdresser for several years before she became a Teacher’s Assistant at Brevard Elementary, from where she retired.
Services were held at her home church, Carson’s Creek Baptist Church, on Sunday, January 21 at 3:00. In Lieu flowers; donations can be made to the Carson’s Creek Baptist Church Mission Fund in her memory. She will be greatly missed by so many, but we will take comfort in knowing she is in perfect health in her Heavenly home and we will see her again.
