Obituary for Sandra Newton Collins

Sandra Newton Collins, age 70, born in Brevard, North Carolina currently living in Campobello, South Carolina went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday afternoon, January 22nd, 2018.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, amazing Oma, loyal friend but most importantly, a faithful woman of God. She has been a true servant of the Lord through many ministry opportunities, most recently a member of Washington Baptist Church in Greer, SC. Sandy and Carl had lived two years in Billings, Montana prior to moving back to North Carolina due to her diagnosis of multiple myeloma. She fought a courageous battle, trusting the Lord every moment.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn Howard Newton and Myrtle McCall Newton both of Pisgah Forest, NC. She is survived by her husband, Carl Collins of Campobello, her two daughters, Glenda Lance and husband Jeff of Brevard, NC, Tayna Ortego and husband Philip of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and son Jason Wyles and wife Janis of Red Lodge, Montana, stepsons Scott Tinsley and wife Lisa of Hendersonville, NC, Michael Tinsley and wife Christy of Hendersonville, NC, stepdaughter Tonya Collins of Raleigh, NC and stepson Jeff Collins and wife Ann of Raleigh, NC as well as sixteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Wayne Newton and wife Evelyn of Pisgah Forest, NC, Dale Newton and wife Kathy of Cedar Mountain, NC, and Keith Newton and Dean Newton of Etowah, NC. She has left this earth leaving such a rich legacy of love and faith to all her family.

Visitation will be held at Moody Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard, NC, Friday, January 26th from 6:00-8:00 pm. The service to celebrate her life will be held at Dunns Creek Baptist Church at 2061 See Off Mountain Road, Brevard, NC, on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Dunns Creek Cemetery. She is greatly missed by so many, but we are comforted in knowing her body has been made whole and we will see her again soon!
