Edward J. Burke, 93, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

He was the son of the late Alva and Mary Legg Burke. He was preceded in death by three sisters; Dorothy Pattie, Lorraine Burke and Helen Maginn.

Mr. Burke served for more than 23 years in the U. S. Air Force in Strategic Air Command. He flew 17 combat missions over North Korea and was awarded Air Medals and several non-combat medals.

Survivors include his wife, Carole C. Burke; sons, Kenneth J. Burke of Niceville, FL and Steven Burke of Bellevue, NE; step-daughter, Allison Grier of Lawrenceville, GA; brother, Kenneth H. Burke of Smyrna, GA; sister, Mary E. Foster; 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 2pm, Sunday, February 4, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations. Military honors will be conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
