Condolences

Condolence From: Bob Twomey
Condolence: As the former District Conservationist in Transylvania County, I had the privilege of knowing the entire Summey family and being on their farm many times. They were just absolutely fine, humble people who loved their community, their church, and helping other people. Frank was most instrumental in helping his fellow farmers plant no-till crops, as he bought his own planter and planted their crops for them, many times before he got his crops planted (and sometimes late). But this showed the character of Frank: putting others first. There wasn't a piece of machinery Frank couldn't take apart, repair, and reassemble. He was ALWAYS willing to help someone out, no matter the situation. People like this God gives to us to remind us all of the type person He would like us to be; a reminder, if you will, of what and who we should be. I shall miss Frank, and the community will as well.

Condolence From: Tommy and Marie Hooper
Condolence: Frank was well known, respected and a part of the fabric of the Calvert-Cherryfield community. He will be sorely missed. His parents were thoughtfully cared for by him until their deaths. Frank loved God, his family, his fiancé, Ann (who preceded him in death), his neighbors and God's creation-earth. He was a farmer, who often put the needs of others, before his own. He was a truly good man and sought to do what was right for God and others. His gentile, caring presence leaves a void for those who knew and loved him.
