Brodus Coolidge  Powell
Brodus Coolidge Powell, age 94, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018.
He was born on November 23, 1923 to the late John “Wick” Powell and Annie D. Powell. He was their last surviving child. Mr. Powell was also preceded in death by his first wife, Reba Petit Powell, and a grandson, Toby Lee Powell.
He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army serving with the 341 Field Artillery. He participated the Normandy, Northern Europe, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. Decorations and Citation’s, he received were the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAMET Campaign Medal with Five Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, AR 600-68, and the Victory Medal.
Mr. Powell retired from Ecusta after 37 years. He loved to garden, hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Margaret Parson Powell; son, Girtha Lee Powell and wife Kathy; two grandchildren, Aaron Powell and wife Michelle and Ryan Powell and wife April; four great-grandchildren; five stepchildren, Rachael Cash, James Whitmire and wife Bobbie, Paulette Aiken and husband Donald, Steve Whitmire and wife Nina, Sheila Burnette and husband David; twelve step- grandchildren, twenty-four step great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held on Monday, March 26, 2018.
