Ida “Cornelia” Breedlove Stewart, 89, of Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
She was born in Jackson County on August 10, 1928 to the late Walker and Ida Hall Breedlove. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Clyde H. Stewart, one sister Nola Bryson, and five brothers Alport, Clyde, Riddle, Charles and Howard Breedlove.
Known as “Cornie” by her co-workers and friends, she retired from Ecusta after over 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Calvert Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking for those she loved. She loved her family and faithfully took care of her parents for many years.
Survivors include two sons Dennis Stewart (Barbara), and Larry Stewart (Melissa), and two daughters Wanda Williams (Ronnie), and Sheila Galloway (Ernest); 10 grandchildren, Tammy Staton, Tina Owen (John), Matthew Stewart, Sarah Hagan (Josh), Casey Austin (Anthony ), Caley Yenko (Bobby ), Carey Toole (Justin), Lauren Galloway, Brianna Galloway, and Hunter Galloway; and 9 great grandchildren Dillon Staton, Tanner Staton, Tristin Staton, Josie Owen, Nadalie Horner, Lleyton Horner, Skyler Toole, Sadie Austin, and Cody Yenko.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CarePartners Hospice, 1266 Asheville Highway, Brevard NC 28712 or to the Alzheimer’s Association , 225 N. Michigan Ave, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebrations. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of KOALA (now CarePartners Adult Day), Cedar Mountain House and the Oaks for their love and care of our mother and grandmother these past ten years as she lived with dementia.
