Harold Leon Crane, age 82, of Etowah, NC, died Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Transylvania County, he was a son of the late Hayden H. and Grace M. Crane. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Homer H. Crane, and his sister Betty L. Crane. He served in the Army for two years and worked for Ecusta for forty-five years. His boys fondly remember all the times they rode their bikes as he jogged and taught them to fly fish. After he retired, he and wife Margie traveled across the United States and through Alaska.
Survivors include his wife, Margie O. Crane, his two sons Channing (wife Kathryn) of Etowah, and Clinton (wife Jeannette) of Burnsville, nine siblings, Hazel Burgess, Edna Brown, Ruby Brown, Frances Green, Nancy Wilson, Gaynelle Crane, Donald Crane, Robert Crane, and James Crane, all of Pisgah Forest, five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard, NC on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. A graveside service will be held at Oak Forest Cemetery in Etowah, NC on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 11 am.
