Elaine Mason Zachary

Elaine Mason Zachary, 63, of Brevard passed away on Sunday, September 18,2011, at
Duke University Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born September 21, 1947, in Brevard to the late Russell Dexter Mason and
Georgia McCall Mason. Her sister, Anita Louise Mason, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Alana Zachary Hoenicke and husband, David, of
Danbury, CT; sister, Dana Mason, of Brevard; and many cousins.

She was a graduate of Brevard High School and Western Carolina University. She had a
passion for real estate and was employed at Silver Creek Real Estate Group in Cashiers,
NC. She was an avid gardener and hiker. She enjoyed spending time with animals,
especially her grand dogs. She loved spending time with family and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 23,2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Moody­
Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 11 :00 a.m. at Moody­
Connolly Funeral Home in Brevard. The Reverend Stephen Moore and the Reverend
Buster McCall will officiate.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1 :00 p.m.
at their farm at 314 Kitchens Loop Road, Lake Toxaway (Silversteen community), NC.
Everyone is invited. Bring a covered dish if you would like. Music will be provided by
the Heritage Bluegrass Band and friends.
