History of the Funeral Home

Moody-Connolly Funeral Home has been family owned and operated since it was first established in the early 1900’s.  The Funeral Home began as The Osbourne-Simpson Funeral Home and then the Moody-Choate Funeral Home.  During the 1920’s and 1930’s, Frank Moody became the sole owner and the name was changed to Moody Funeral Home.  In 1974 the funeral home was acquired by John and Margie Connolly at which time the name was changed to Moody-Connolly Funeral Home as it remains to this day.

The family of  John and Margie Connolly have served the community of Brevard, Pisgah Forest, Rosman, Lake Toxaway, Balsam Grove, and surrounding Transylvania, Henderson, and Jackson counties for more than thirty years.

Mr. Connolly’s son, Wayne, has managed the business on a daily basis for several years. In 2009 Wayne brought in Chris Biecker as a partner to continue the long tradition of family ownership and dedication to the community.
