Obituary for Lois Ann Leightner (Michael)

Lois Ann Leightner (Michael)
Pisgah Forest – Lois Ann Michael Leightner went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 26, 2016.
She was born on October 13, 1935 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to George Leonard Michael and Lydia Lamprecht Michael who are both deceased along with a sister, Lou Ann Bishop and infant daughter, Laura Jean Leightner.
Mrs. Leightner is survived by a sister, Ella Michael of Churubusco, IN, her husband, Paul E. Leightner of Pisgah Forest, three sons, Timothy, Dr. Jonathan, and Daniel, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
As a little child, she committed her life to Jesus and has been a committed Jesus follower all her life. She was a member of the 1st Alliance Church in Hendersonville, NC, but for the past two years, she attended Father’s Hands Fellowship in Etowah, NC. She shared her faith with her children and helped to teach them in the way that had proved precious to her all the days of her life and wished that any memorial gifts be sent to Child Evangelism Fellowship, P.O. Box 348, Warrenton, MO 63383-0348.
Mrs. Leightner was a faithful wife who ordered her life after the pattern of Proverbs 31 and who honored her husband and encouraged him in his walk with the Lord as he started his own business. She was a devoted mother who early introduced her children to her Savior. She was a fastidious house-keeper and a wonderful cook. Her interests extended beyond her home where she made many friends and greatly enjoyed volunteering at the local hospital as a “candy striper” where her winning smile and cheerful attitude lightened the burdens of many patients.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the 1st Alliance Church in Hendersonville, NC.
