Herbert Curtis  Chandler
Pisgah Forest – Herbert Curtis Chandler, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 23, 2016.
A native of Madison County, he was the son of the late Luther and Eileen Davis Chandler and was the husband of the late Muriel Chandler. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Bonnie Chandler.
Mr. Chandler was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict where he received a Combat Infantry Badge, a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, and two O/S Bars. He was retired from Ecusta and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Stuart Chandler of Pisgah Forest, and Steven Chandler and wife April of Brevard; four grandchildren, Shawn, Jessica, Lauren, and Joshua; one great-granddaughter, Kinslee.
The funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Home. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
