Obituary for Betty Ann Bryson (Jones)

Betty Ann Bryson (Jones)
Betty Ann Jones Bryson, 73, of the Cathey’s Creek community in Brevard, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 after a courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
She was the daughter of Addis Chapman Jones of Brevard and the late William (Doc) Jones. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Moyce and Dan Jones, and her granddaughter, Kara Melissa Bryson
Her loving survivors include her husband of 54 years, George Dennis Bryson and children Kimberly Clark and husband, Dickey of Brevard and Jeff Bryson and wife, Pam of Elizabethtown Kentucky. grandchildren Chad Galloway and wife Kendra, Andrew Rogers and wife Shaina, Taylor Rogers and wife Melissa, Dillion Bryson, Taylor Porter and husband Cable, great grandchildren, Anthony and Caroline Galloway and Savannah Rogers. and her brother Billy Jones.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who was full of strength and lived her life to the fullest. Betty motivated many and loved her children and always encouraged them to reach for the stars. She and her husband Dennis provided a loving home for her grandkids and great-grandkids spoiling them over and over! Her family was her life and her strength especially in battling ALS. Betty had a husband, lifelong companion and best friend in Dennis. He cared for her when she was down and made sure she had everything she needed. She gained much of her motivation with her daughter Kim on their countless trips shopping, visits to the ALS doctors or enjoying a venture out to see Addis. She loved the motivation that she received from her son Jeff as he encouraged her to simply enjoy life. She loved her trips to see him in Kentucky and the fun black Friday shopping adventures with Kim, Dickey and Pam. Words cannot express the amount of love that she provided to her cherished grandchildren and great grands; they were her world.
She gave her heart to her family and friends. She loved her fun times of shopping, traveling and going to the beach with her dear friends, Kathy Lance, Kay Powell, Sharon Reese, Bobbi Gillespie, and Doris West. Her persistence, energy and positivity was adored by everyone and especially her friend, Frances Bryson.
She worked for over 30 years at First Citizens Bank in Brevard/Hendersonville where she made her customers her priority. She always went the extra mile to help in any way that she could.
Her family would like to express a sincere thank you to all who provided prayers, encouragement, food, visits, or helped with a host of other needs. Your concern and compassion brought numerous smiles and certainly boosted the morale of Betty and our entire family.
Additionally, we are especially thankful for the loving care and kindness provided by Vickie McCall, Rosetta Owen, and Heather Pickford. These ladies made her smile, gave her hope and inspired her during her extended battle with ALS.
Lastly, the medical expertise provided by Transylvania Home Health, Betty’s extended family, allowed her to maximize the quality of her life as her symptoms progressed. We cannot express what a relief and comfort it was to have the support of these caring professionals by her side during this journey.
To honor and celebrate Betty’s life the family invites friends to join them at 3PM on Monday May 8, 2017 for a graveside rites service at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, Betty wished for memorials to be made to the ALS Foundation:
