Obituary for Clara Jane Gosen (Scott)
Clara Jane Scott Gosen, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018.
She was born on November 24, 1928 in Transylvania County, NC to the late
Otho and Pearl Brown Scott. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in
death by her husband, Abram Gosen, one sister, Betty Sue Scott Foley, one
brother, Billy Joe Scott, and one granddaughter, Lisa Chandler Powell.
Jane was a friend to everyone she met. She loved to cook and was happiest
when she had all her family together and serving one of the many wonderful
meals that she had prepared for them. She was an excellent seamstress.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Prescott and husband James of Arvada, Colorado;
three sons, Clyde Wilson McCranie, Jr. and wife Joyce of Summerfield, NC; Ralph
McCranie and wife Kim of Shelby, NC, and Charles Marvin McCranie of Manson, NC;
two sisters, Rhoda Riley and husband William of Derby, KS and
Lena Brown and husband Cliff of London, England; one brother, Johnny Scott and
wife Sheila of Mills River; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Mt.
Moriah Calvert Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to
the service. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland Co. Hospice or to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
