Obituary for William Therell Thompson
William Thompson, 83, of Hendersonville (formerly Brevard) passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Life Care Center Hendersonville.
He was born in 1934 to the late Samuel Thompson and Mary Hankins in Cadiz, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joan Fredell Thompson, his wife of 7 years, Beverly McFadden, son William Theodore Thompson and grandson, Kevin Thompson.
After achieving a master’s degree in Business Administration from Ball State, William worked for General Motors and Nosco plastics before moving to Brevard and creating Liberty Plastics in Hendersonville, NC in 1976. William then moved to Hendersonville, NC. He retired in 2006 and enjoyed his time in nature with his family and friends fishing, hunting, and boating.
Survivors include his daughters, Josette Moore and husband Paul of Fremont, CA and Mary Walgrave and husband Tom of Hendersonville, son, Tom Thompson and wife Brigitte of Mills River and granddaughter, Kayla Tabari of San Francisco, CA.
William and family express their sincere gratitude to the nurses and staff of Life Care Center Hendersonville and Four Seasons Hospice for their loving care.
A Gathering of Friends will be held from 12noon until 1pm, Friday, June 15, 2018 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Life Celebration. Interment will follow in Big Hill Cemetery.
