To all of Don's family: I'm so sorry that I missed the service. I would like to have met all of you. Believe it or not, I was a student at North Knox High School when Don was assistant principal and graduated in 1965 I believe just before he became principal. My mother, Dorothy Lawlis, taught math there and was quite fond of Don. She passed away four years ago. I was able to meet with Don a couple of times when I realized that he was living in Brevard and we had quite a nice reunion. I have been retired here since 2003 and was delighted to see that he lived here as well. My condolences to all of you and know that he was always viewed as a good educator and a good man.
